Scott had a great first day, he is happy because he got the teacher he wanted.  I knew he was getting her, but wanted it to be a surprise for him. She was Leanne's teacher for Grade One. During that year, the teacher (Mrs. D.) was pregnant, I was pregnant with Scott, and four other moms in that class were pregnant! People used to joke that they were steering clear of that classroom, as there was obviously something in the air, lol.

Today I need to take Scott to the doctor. He rarely misses school, well today he is home sick. It started yesterday afternoon, he had a sore throat. Later last night, he was sick to his tummy and feeling dizzy. He felt even worse this morning. Poor kid, he was so upset because today they are starting a project he was anxious to do.

Tuesday was not only the first day of school, it was also my first day of following the SlimFast plan. So far, not too bad, lol. I think we are only supposed to weigh once a week, but I went ahead and checked this morning. Two pounds gone. I needed that to keep me excited about doing this! Wish me luck.

Today was the first day of Grade 5 for Scott. He was very excited about going back. They were only in class until 11:15 today, and Wed. are our early day, so tomorrow he'll be out at 1:45. Talk about easing your way back into things!

Tomorrow I take Div for a hearing test. His hearing has been good since he has been having tubes inserted in his ears. He is on his second set, and I know that one tube has fallen out. His problem has been fluid on the ear, which makes him fairly deaf. Hopefully he is outgrowing the problem.

The Sears Wish Book arrived last week. Between that and school starting up, I really feel like summer is over. The mornings and evenings are cool now. I love fall! We had hoped to get one more camping trip in, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

I'm rather enjoying having our two little girls with us. Besides the fact that they are simply adorable and a pleasure to have around, they give me great reason to indulge in a little shopping. Have I ever mentioned that I love to shop??

They each arrived with two pairs of sandals, and no other footwear. I've since managed to buy them two more pairs of sandals, seeing as how they were on clearance , two pairs of runners, two pairs of dressy shoes, one pair of everyday and a pair of boots. As for clothing, they arrived with alot, but all of it the summer variety. Each time I go out, I pick them up a few outfits for fall and winter. Seeing how the shops are having those smashing clearance sales, I haven't been able to resist picking up quite a few adorable summer outfits as well.

The problem? I don't know if they'll even still be here by the time it is cool enough for them to wear all these new things, lol! I had told myself I would wait for court before buying them much. Of course, if they do return home, the new things will go with them. Does anyone know if there is a Shoppers Addiction group?

Yup, I'm still here. Just don't have alot of anything to say lately. I just renewed my premium service, so I dang well better come up with something I want to say soon!

I just got a call from the girl's father. He has been diagnosed with the Norwalk Virus. It has been making the rounds here and ruined, for many of the passengers,  two cruises to Alaska. It isn't a terribly serious illness, but it does involve vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. The girls spent Saturday and half of yesterday with their dad, until the visit was called of because of how sick he was. We had been thinking of going camping from Friday to Sunday. I think we'll pass on that now. I can't imagine being in the motorhome if it does hit us all! I'd rather be home, close to my washer and dryer.

Today I found the most interesting website for anyone who likes books. Check out BookCrossing.com and see what you think. The idea is you sign up, and register a book or books you have read. You then "release" the  books out into the world. Hopefully whoever picks it up logs in and journals that they have found your book. Then you can follow it's progress as it gets passed around. I am so excited about this, I feel like a kid who is sending off a message in a bottle, lol.

Thanks for the comments on the pretty look I've got going on here. Too bad it was a mistake! Not really a mistake, but something I am not sure how I did. I was checking out the Xanga skins. Trying out the look of a bunch of different ones. Really liked this one. Anyhow, nothing shows up when I look so I thought, as usual, it was too complicated for me. I only know from people saying they like the new look that it is showing up for others. That is a good thing!

Seventeen more days until school starts. I am not ready to get back into that routine already! It feels very strange to only have one child going to school this year. With two having graduated, Scott is the only one. He is very excited and looking forward to Grade 5. Divy doesn't start Kindergarten until next year. I didn't even have to do any shopping for school supplies, as I ordered Scott's from the school and they were delivered in June. The child has more clothes than he needs. About all we need to shop for are pants, which are a nightmare because he has a big waist and short legs. Like his mother.

We had two sisters placed with us two weeks ago. The oldest one turned three on the day they arrived, the younger will be two in three weeks. So far things are going very well, they are very easy to care for and fitting right in with us. My one concern at this point is the older one spends all her energy looking after/out for her little sister. I love that they are so close, but the older one should be able to relax and lose herself in play.

My oldest is on training in Wainwright. Due back in Edmonton on Monday night. They were to have gone to Bosnia in September but Canada is beginning to cut back on the number of troops it is sending there. Kevin was one of the several hundred to get the news they would not be going. He was terribly upset, as he's known since early 2001 that the plan was to go over this Sept. Anyhow, the training they are receiving is for oversears deployment. The training they were to have before leaving for Bosnia. He says that this way, anything that comes up that needs troops sent from Canada, they will be the first to go. He's very happy about that. I won't say how it makes me feel!

Steve is working today, the kids and I are just hanging out at the house. They are all playing outside, as it is nice out there today. There is a breeze so it isn't so hot. I don't even have my fans turned on yet. Ahhh, it's nice.

Peggy asked how Kevin and Heather made out with changing Div. LOL!  Kevin says he changed him one and a half times, that cracked me up. I guess it was too much for him the second time, and Heather had to take over!

Heidi, are you serious about the bungee jump? Heather did that. Kevin passed on it, but they both do the other freaky rides, like the Space Shot and the rollercoaster regularly. I can't hardly even stand to watch them, I scream as the rollercoaster goes past me! Confession time. I went of the kiddie version of the Space Shot with Scott and Divy. They were both loving it, laughing and laughing. I on the other hand shamed myself! I was screaming, couldn't help it, and couldn't open my eyes when it would move us up to the top part of the ride. Whenever I did manage to open my eyes, people were staring and laughing at me for being such a pussy. Oh well, I admit it, I'm a big ole chicken!!

Wecome Geri!! Have you been to the mall before? It is such fun, you could spend your whole vacation there. Make sure you go into the Silver City Theatre, even if you don't plan to see a film. They have this dragon on the ceiling of lobby. It comes to life every 15 minutes and even breathes fire. You can feel the heat of it! My kids loved that. Come to think of it, that was about the only thing that was free there.

1. Do you have a car? If so, what kind of car is it? I have a 1996 Ford Aeorstar. It is an extended van. I am ticked at Ford because they stopped making them.

2. Do you drive very often?  Pretty much every day.

3. What's your dream car? I have never had one. I don't really give a crap about a vehicle, as long as it fits everyone and gets us where we need to go. Even as a teen, I was never impressed by guys with fancy cars, lol.

4. Have you ever received a ticket? Never. I will remember Darla's latest trick if I ever do.  

5. Have you ever been in an accident?  Once. As a teen. In a stolen car.

We are home from our trip. We left here at 5 am on July 26th. We took Kevin, Heather and Div to the airport and then headed off to the ferry terminal. We were on the 7 am sailing. The kids flight left at 7:10. As we drove off the boat on the mainland, they were landing in Edmonton.  We took our time on the trip there, and spent the night in a hotel before arriving in Edmonton around noon on the 27th. We went to Heather's home, and met her parents. Divy was having a great time, charming her family. He had LOVED flying!!

We spent two days at the West Edmonton Mall, the worlds largest. I spent both days shopping, the rest of the family spent one day at Galaxyland, the other at the Waterpark. My oldest friend from my days of living in Alberta was with me, and we had a few years worth of catching up to do. How better to do it then while shopping and dining out, lol!

On the 30th, we headed five hours north to the city where most of Steve's family still lives. It is such a blast as he has four siblings, and that means many nieces and nephews, as well as six great nieces and nephews that have been born since our last visit. One brother and one sister live on farms, the little kids LOVE that part! It was a blur of visiting with everyone, but such fun.
