  • Kevin has left, the visit is over already. How can two weeks possibly go by so quickly?

Kevin woke up Divy this morning, and I snapped a pic. Divy

is pretty weird about his eyes in the morning. He always keeps one of them covered until he has been awake 10 or so minutes. He makes one of us wet a washcloth and holds that over his eyes. Strange I tell ya!

Here are my three boys together, just before leaving for the airport.

I don't know when we'll see Kevin again, hopefully not too many months from now.

  • Happy New Year 2003!!!

I hope you all had a great, happy holiday season. It was wonderful and crazy around here. Having Kevin home is like the icing on the cake for me. :) As a bonus, after Christmas a couple of his buddies drove out here from Edmonton. If only Heather could have joined us as well, it would have been perfect.

Last night we had Annie and five of her nearest and dearest here, plus Kevin and his two buddies, plus three more that came over.  I made a huge crock pot full of spaghetti sauce and served a nice healthy dinner. Before they went out for their night of drinking, lol! Everyone was gone from here by 8:30, off to their parties.

The little girls were in bed at their usual 7 p.m. Steve and I hung out with Scott and Divy and watched movies. Divy lasted until almost 9, Steve til 10 and Scott until 11:30. It was pretty funny, Scott kept asking me if I was going to stay up til midnight. I told him I probably would. I could tell by his half closed eyes he was having a real struggle staying awake. I told him at 11:30 that it was already after midnight in Alberta, so I told him Happy New Years, we hooted and shouted a bit, then he went to bed happy to have seen the new year in.  I then headed to bed and finished the book I was reading. We are such party animals.

  • Steve and the boys have gone to the airport to pick up Kevin. Steve just called. The plane was to have arrived at 9:22, it is delayed. TG only slightly, so it should land in the next 15 minutes or so. I hate waiting!

  • Sunday was our wedding anniversary. My wonderful amazing husband made me a desk for a combination anniversary/Christmas gift. Wanna see???

Steve took a picture of me sitting there, but somehow I didn't look quite as cute as Annie does.

  • The lastest Davinoisms.

Last night he was jumping on the couch. Steve told him to stop jumping. Divy says that he can't. Steve of course tells him that yes, he thinks he can. Divy says that it isn't him jumping, it's his feet. They don't listen to daddy.

Today Steve asked the kids if they wanted grilled cheese for lunch. The girls say they do, Divy says no, he doesn't want grilled cheese. Steve asks what he does want. His answer. Boy cheese.

  • One week ago tonight B, a boy my daughter dated last summer crashed his car. They wrapped the car around a power pole, took it out and went through a metal fence. It is estimated they were travelling at 120 klicks an hour. The Jaws of Life had to be used to get him and his two passengers out of the vehicle. B broke his neck and back, as well as other life threatening injures. One passenger also broke his back, and I'm not sure about the specific injuries to the third boy. I remember hearing about shattered bones, battered organs and crushed faces before I had to tune out the details. I know they were all in critical condition. B was flown to Vancouver to be treated. Apparently he can now wiggle the toes of one foot. That is a very encouraging sign. Annie is going to Vancouver next Thursday to visit him. Please keep these 3 boys in your thoughts and prayers. They each have a long hard road ahead of them.

  • Today I asked Annie to stop at the mall and pick up our Santa pictures we had done on the weekend. I paid extra to have reprints made, seeing as I needed more than one copy. They only gave her ONE picture! I was ranting and raving about them being such ripoff artists, etc. Steve pointed out that they had maybe just missed them, and they are still sitting there, waiting to be picked up. I'll give them the benifit of the doubt, but if I get there and they DON'T have them, I'm going to be kicking some happy holidy ass.
