  • A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and, as you might expect, decided to check out the local brothels nearby.

When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, "Is this a union house?"

"No," she replied, "I'm sorry it isn't."

"Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?"

"The house gets $80 and the girls get $20."

Mightily offended at such unfair dealings, the man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, "Why yes sir, this IS a union house."

The man asked, "And if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?"

"The girls get $80 and the house gets $20."

"That's more like it!" the UAW man said. He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room and pointed to a stunningly attractive blonde. "I'd like her for the night."

"I'm sure you would, sir," said the Madam, then gesturing to an 85 year old woman in the corner, "but Ethel here has seniority."

  • Last night some yahoo pulled out from a side street right in front of me when I was doing 60 klicks. Was there such a huge line of traffic behind me that he couldn't bear to wait for it to pass? Hell no, there wasn't a soul, just me and the empty roadway. I swear that nine times out of ten, if someone is going to cut you off like that, there will not be any more vehicles behind you.

  • I guess I posted too soon about the There site. When I went back to check it out, I realized they are only accepting people to be beta testers. Like LaughingRat ,  I too signed up.

Yesterday it was just Div and I at home. I left him colouring happily, and went to have a quick shower. This is how I found him when I came out.

I hadn't realized he could even start the game, I guess he pays more attention to these things than I had thought, lol.

  •  This new website was written up in our newspaper and looks like it could be a lot of fun. I haven't had time to really check it out yet, but I plan to later. Speaking of fun, you have got to check this one out. On second thought, fun isn't the right word for it, twisted might be more fitting.

  • Now, for the really important stuff. I am holding in my hot little hand Div's new birth certificate and the certified copy of the adoption order. It arrived in todays mail. That is everything. We are no longer waiting for anything else, not one more document. Yeehawwwwwwww!

  • I'm glad you all thought the request to make her bed was a funny as we did! In her defence, she did just have surgery, so I can understand needing help with it. But for heaven's sake, she has her own family that could help her. Yk??! If they aren't home to help her, leave it unmade. For the record, no Steve did not go over and do it. When he told Annie that V had called and wanted her to make her bed for her, she started ranting and raving, wondering if the next call would be asking her to go over and wipe her ass.

I could have a blog dedicated to the wacky things she says and does. Honestly, it is rare for a day to go by without some gem from her. Hmmm, it would make for a much more interesting blog than this, maybe I should consider it!

  • I know this subject may not be of interest to anyone but me, but I have to write this here.  After my last post about my neighbour I just have to! She phoned over here yesterday morning. First she asked for me, Steve said I was out. Then she asked for Annie, Steve told her she was out as well. She then asked if HE would do her a favour. He told her sure, what is it? She wanted him to come over and make her bed!!

Now this woman has her useless 24yo son still living at home, as well as her husband. When Steve asked why she didn't get one of them to help her, her answer was that they'd gone out. He then suggests she wait for them to get back, and have one of them do it. Her answer? No, she wanted it done before they got back. Looney tunes, I tell ya!

  • My next door neighbour is a caring, big hearted woman. She is also a lot wacky and an incurable hypochondriac. I get a call from her twice a week on average asking for a ride to the emergency or the clinic for various ailments. If she isn't on medication of some sort, she isn't happy, yk? I'm sure the doctors just cringe when they see her coming.

Yesterday afternoon she called, wanting a ride to the ER. I asked what the problem was, and she said she thought she was having a gall bladder attack. I had mine out two years ago so I'm pretty familiar with the symptoms. I asked her what was happening and she started telling me that she'd had a hamburger the night before and "her book" (which translates to her bible ) said that fatty food could set off an attack, and she was having pain just like it said there. I figure I didn't want to wake up all the kids for the trip, so I told her I was afraid she'd have to call someone else.

Last night she called from the hospital to let me know she was having surgery this morning to remove her gallbladder. Now what is it I've heard, yk, the story about a boy and a wolf?

  • Thank you all so much for the congratulations! I plan to print them out and add them to Divy's Lifebook.  I feel like someone who has just given birth. Yk, still on cloud nine, and finding it hard to believe it is really over.  It was a long road, although we didn't mind it being such a slow process because we already had the child we wished to adopt living with us. I totally  understand the adoption workers focusing their energies on finding families for children who were still looking for their forever family.

Today we received the court documents. Our adoption worker had included a really sweet card and a book for Div, On the Day You Were Born. It is beautiful! I started to cry just flipping through it. I will save it to read with Divy at bedtime tonight. :)

  •  The moment we've been waiting for since August 11, 2000 has arrived. It is official.

     It's a boy!!!!!

Our adoption is finalized. Div is now officially, forever and ever, our son.
