My next door neighbour is a caring, big hearted woman. She is also a lot wacky and an incurable hypochondriac. I get a call from her twice a week on average asking for a ride to the emergency or the clinic for various ailments. If she isn't on medication of some sort, she isn't happy, yk? I'm sure the doctors just cringe when they see her coming.
Yesterday afternoon she called, wanting a ride to the ER. I asked what the problem was, and she said she thought she was having a gall bladder attack. I had mine out two years ago so I'm pretty familiar with the symptoms. I asked her what was happening and she started telling me that she'd had a hamburger the night before and "her book" (which translates to her bible
) said that fatty food could set off an attack, and she was having pain just like it said there. I figure I didn't want to wake up all the kids for the trip, so I told her I was afraid she'd have to call someone else.
Last night she called from the hospital to let me know she was having surgery this morning to remove her gallbladder. Now what is it I've heard, yk, the story about a boy and a wolf?

Maybe you could get her that book and take it to her in the hospital as a get well wish. Oh, that's bad, huh?
I didn't get here on Tuesday, but I am soooooooo happy for you and your family. You give so much love to children who often have never felt unconditional love before they reach your home. Divy is one lucky little man to have been blessed with a family like yours.
It never fails, does it? (((((Hugs))))) Oh, and congrats on getting the final nod for Divy!
Don't you DARE feel guilty about not taking her! Don't you dare. The wolf story is a good one for HER to learn.
Figures, huh?
Totally true about the wolf thing. LOL.
My grandmother is like that about every sympton. Must feel crazy to live like that.
Oh, your poor neighbor. And poor you. At least I'm not personally involved with mine, although once I was asked to pick up some milk at the supermarket. Oh, and the father tried to get me to go to a nightclub with him. A resounding "NO" and I was not bothered again. You have to set those boundaries early!
It's very sweet of you to try and help your neighbor sometimes, but you can't feel guilty about the times you don't.
